When given as a gift, they are an extension of our feelings when words do not suffice. Love, sympathy, and friendship are fortified by a simple gift of nature. Fascinating isn’t it?

A language of flowers

Dating back to the ancient Greeks, certain flowers were thought of as representations of gods and goddesses and were even placed at temples as offerings. The ancient Egyptians also placed high importance on the floral delights growing by the Nile river and would adorn their lovers with flowers as a show of affection. During the Victorian era, flowers were used solely for the purpose of expressing one’s emotions. It was important to know the meanings of different flowers, how they were arranged and the manner in which it was handed to you as this would signify the feelings being expressed. The Victorians even wrote books on the subject which can still be read today. Fast forward to modern times and the tradition of gifting flowers to show love and appreciation still stands. It’s a language like no other that blossomed from love.
